1996 Mercury Marquis

All of my windows are not working. The motor clicks on two. The cable is broken on one. One window is of the track.
My question is; how tight should the windows be?
It is very difficult to manually push them up and down even with the motor removed.
I think the motor needs replaced on at least two windows.
My main question though is concerning the amount of force required to actually move the window up and down.
