Electrical problem
1996 Mercury Marquis V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 178000 miles

I'm having a tranmission problem, and also a backfire problem, but I can't tell rather because of my transmission that it's backfiring or not! And I also wanted to know if a falty trans sensor could make my trans not wanna shift out of 1st gear by it self. and sometimes it feels as if its not down shifting! "slow and slugish" thats when the back fire occurs. PLEASE HELP ME SAVE SOME MONEY!!!!!
