Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Mercury Marquis V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 96,000 miles

My daughter drove her 1996 Grand Marquis through some high water, and it stalled. She finally got it started and drove it home a few blocks, she said it was making a loud noise. There is water in the engine oil, and it is making a loud tapping sound like a lifter. What is the best course of action I can do to fix this?
