i changed the water pump on my mpv and now my van wont start what could have happend

Just start with re checking any electrical connections that you you undid, and get a scan done as well, it should not be very much.

ok i will check ..also i just found out that it call for the timing belt to be removed wich i did not know at the time why would i have to do this if it has nothing to do with the pump if so could it be out of time

I don't have access to the data base just now, is this a cam belt driven pump? If so the valve timing may be out.
