Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Mazda 626 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90000 miles

My 96 mazda 626 was running fine, I did not use it for a couple of months so I unplug the battery. Now that I want to use it, it won't start. I've checked and there is no spark coming from the cables. The car also has an anti theft system. Could this system be preventing the car from firing up?. How can it be reset?
Any thoughts?
