Electrical problem
1996 Jeep Cherokee V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
We've owned this Jeep is a Grand Cherokee Laredo, since it was new. In the past if any door was left open for any amount of time the interior lights would dim, eventually go out. For some reason now I have to set the alarm for the lights to go out. Upon arrival I hit the ~lock~on the key pad (the little thing that goes on your keyring), if the horn blows, the doors ock and the interior lights go out. If the horn doesn't blow, and the doors lock, then the lights stay on and drain the battery. If I manually lock the doors the lights stay on and drain the battery. If I slam all the doors shut and either, A) Turn the car over or B) turn the key, up to accesory and then turn it off again then sometimes this will allow the horn to blow, lock the doors and the lights go off. I'm going crazy, as sometimes it takes a few minutes for this car to cooperate so the battery isn't drained....HELP??? My daughter and I have been stranded several times because of this crazy behavior my cherished cherokee is exhibiting.
Thank you so much for any help you can give me with this !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Cindi and Sorrel
