Transmission problem
1996 Ford Taurus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 154000 miles
Recently, I was driving the car approx 40 mph inthe city. Unexpectedly, and without warning, the car stopped accelerating. The car came to a rolling stop with the engine still running.
I turned off the ignition and successfully restarted the car. When I placed the car in Drive adn pressed on the gas pedal, the car did not move. Likewise, when I placed the car into Reverse and pressed on the gas, it did not move.
What could the problem be?
