Transmission problem
1996 Ford Contour 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 159000 miles

We just got this car and we noticed that the O/D green light would come on for no reason. Of course the car would slow down a little bit. After a few minutes of running around town, we noticed the speedometer jump from 5- 50 miles but we were only going 30 them the speedometer quit working.
What could be going on?
