Transmission problem
1996 Dodge Avenger 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles

My Avgenger shifts hard. A couple of times it has gone into limp mode, but seems to come out of it on restart. A mechanic look at it and told me the "output speed sensor?" was bad (there where fault codes he said). So, I replaced the input and output sensors myself. It been a day and it shifts a little better, but still shifts hard sometimes. It seems like low gear is where the trouble is (mostly shifting down I think). Any suggestions?
