Noises problem

I took my mini van into our local dealer because there was a growling noise under the hood on the right side on start up and at very low speed. They said it was the front pump on the transmission and recommended replacing the entire transmission.($2800) I had this done about 4 months ago but the noise is back.
I had the torque converter replaced about 16 months ago($1800) and they had wanted to replace the entire transmission at that time. When the technician took the torque converter out there were no broken fins or any signs of metal having been dislodged into the transmission so I opted for just replacing the converter.
What is going on with this car.
I am taking it back into the shop for an adjustment because it is thudding when going into gear from park and is sometime jerking during low/varying speeds.
