Air Conditioning problem

When summer began in TX, my a/c was running fine. A month later, it began to blow warm air, so i when and had freon added. I was told it only needed half a can. Once it was placed in the a/c ran cool again, but 3weeks later the same problem occurred. What is or could be the problem?
