Engine Performance problem
1996 Chevy Caprice V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 51000 miles

We inherited this 96 caprice sedan w/ 4.3l V8, and it aready had a SEL on when we got it. I took it to my dealer not knowing any of the history. My dealer said it was an emissions problem and it needed cleaning out and that's what they did. The car ran great for about a week and then it started hesitating again. I stopped at auto zone and they pulled code p1441. Then I was able to get the history of repairs and it appears that this car had been repaired for the very same code other than my recent repair three additional times over a span of 5 years but only 3100 vehicle miles. Each time the dealer put on a new purge soleniod, something else must be causing this code because I can't believe three soleniods would go bad in the span of an oil change. Please Help
