bmw, e36, 320i 1995, m reg convertable automatic.
i have been told by one mechanic my head gaskets blown, and by another its a water problem, to change water pump and thermostat.

the car has been using more water than usual the last 2mths. but not visibly leaking. it over heated last week once, boiled up and leaked water. but has not over heated since or leaked water. the waters so going though, but not mixing with the oil. but the radiators only warming up at the top, indicating bad circulation of water. i think the waters evaporating due to engine running hot, but not over heating on gage in car at all. do you know what problem is??

please help

lisa
