Electrical problem
2002 Buick Century 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I can not roll the window back up. I can hear the motor, but it will not go up. Replaces fuse not the problem. I can seem to figure out how to get the door off to even look at it. Any suggestions on what to check, or how to get door front off to even look.

See "replace window motor" under "popular service repairs" at upper right of this page for the general steps involved. Each model is a little different, but in general, you've got to remove screws (some may be behind pry-out plugs) and remove the panel from the door frame. My old jalopy (1992) has a couple of screws in the door handle recess, one angled int the upper arm rest and a big one at the top of the arm rest. Push the upper arm rest toward the door latch to release the clip at the back. Two more screws are revealed for the lower part of the arm rest. I pry off the handle of the door lock slider so the rod will go through the hole in the recess. The side rear-view mirror adjuster removes with a small allen wrench to the set screw underneath. A half-dozen or so nylon fasteners around the bottom and sides pry out of the frame. Take care to pry on the shoulder of the fastener itself, or else it will tear out the slot in the panel, which is just fiberboard. There's a special pry tool for this, but a screwdriver will work. Unplug the window switch wires and pull straight up on the panel. Remove another brace and bracket and peel away the plastic liner, reinstall the window switch and you should be able to see the problem.
