Electrical problem

The only rear lights that come on my Buick when I turn the light knob on, are the ones on each end of the trunk lid. None of the other rear lights come on, which includs the back-up lights. I have checked the fuse for the rear lights on inside of the dash on the passenger side inside the car and it is good. As a foot-note; sometimes the automatic truck opener will not work at night until the head-lights go out. Don't know if there may be a connection. I'm competely puzzled.
