Brakes problem
1999 Buick Regal 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 78000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
after replacing the rotors and pads on the front, the brakes don't seem to be releasing. What could possibly be causing this?
When calipers get old the rubber seals do not keep out water & crud. So when you push the piston back you carry that junk into the caliper. After you apply brakes the piston will not retract. There is a square cut sealing ring that is streached on application and is what pulls piston back . Thats why on cars with years & milage I would always put calipers in the est. Been bit to many times
Get you couple rebuilt calipers and you will be ready to go.
Hope this has helped
