1999 Buick Century 6 cyl Automatic

I bought a 99 buick centry yesterday for $99. I took it to auto zoze because the service engine light was on, they told me after doing a diagnostic test that my erg valve was clogged and I needed to clean it out. Where is this located and how do i clean it, Thank you for any advice you can give me

It's on the back of the intake manifold, toward the driver's side of center. Here's a diagram of a Chevy; yours should be the same: http://autorepair.about.com/library/images/bl456lib.htm
You'll need to unbolt it from the manifold and the exhaust riser. Equally or more likely to be clogged than the valve itself is its port in the manifold, which sometimes must be removed to clean effectively.
