Brakes problem
1998 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 58000 miles

i have a 98 buick lasabre-4 door,every time when i take off or brake firmly,my red brake light on the dash,lights up and and makes the dinging noise.it will keep on doing this until i either touch the brake again or it will just shut off all by itself.its been doing this intermittently now for the past 9 months.have you heard of this problem happening on any other buicks or lasabres?is it an indication that my pads might need to be changed?(owners manual says nothing about the brake light coming on as a indication of time to change brakes) thank you.
