my car won't turn off even when Iremove the key - i have to disconnect the battery

This is what you called dieseling/run on -readjust the idle speed don't work clean the throttle plate could be sticking open and reset the idle again

The ignition lock assembly is broken and will possible need inspection/replacement. Part# 32-32-1-093-265. This requires special tools and skills, not a job for beginners.
