Interior problem

today i was driving down a street at about twenty miles an hour and randomly my speedometer on my audi cabriolet jumped up to around 45. yet when i stopped it returned to 0 and when i began to go again it climbed very quickly back up to the 40 region. so i pulled over and turned the car off and removed the car, then after about 10 seconds, put it back in and started it up and took off again. yet, the issue still continued, and when i got on the highway, the speedometer stopped at 50 even tho i knew i was going faster. do you know what this could be?
