Steering problem
1993 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 101000 miles

Hi, I was driving home the other day (1993 Buick Lesabre Ltd) and there was some white smoke slowly rising from immediately behind the steering wheel. I have asked around and most think that it is a wiring short in the steering column. I want to get in to look at it, but the only way to get at it is to take off the entire steering wheel because the cover is solid all the way around the column. Does this sound right to you? Is there any good tricks for getting to the wiring? handling the airbag?
