what is the DME and where is it located in my BMW thank you
I have never heard of a DME, i suggest you ask whoever told you that to explain, or may be if you have a particular issue with the car let us know what it is.
DME refers to the power train control module that controls the engine and stands for Digital Motor Electronics. It is in the area above the glove box and can be accessed through the engine compartment. Remove the foam and the plastic cover and then inspect both units inside that space. The unit on the top is for transmission control and the bottom unit is the DME. You will be looking for any water damage and this may require repair or replacement of said units. If water gets in there it causes issues with the modules.
