Transmission problem

i bought this car for my hubby last year and it has driven really good, then all of a sudden it stopped reversing he can not reverse could someone troubleshoot this and see what it might be instead of the tranny or is the tranny the only thing it could be

I'm not a mechanic, but my random guess would be the tranny needs to be rebuilt/replaced, but you should also check the transmission fluid if you haven't already. If it's low or empty, that could be the reason reverse won't work. If the other gears have started shifting rough lately, then I would definately check the fluid.
