Engine Mechanical problem
1988 BMW 740 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles

I am constantly getting a deep white/grey smoke coming from my exhaust. I know that old cars do this at times, however, it doesn't go away. It also doesn't disperse a couple of feet from the exhaust. It seems to flow for 10 yards or so before dispersing into the air. I have had the engine worked on before for cracked heads but it has been running fine for the last year or so.

I'm confused, BMW did not offer a 740 in the 1988 model lineup, do you mean 735 or 750?
