The driver window does not stay up unless we use tape. I think the power works, but the window just drops down into the door when let go

When you try to put the window up or down usung the power windows do you hear the motor turning? With the window not staying up what happened it came of the track or something came loose.. you will have to take the inside of the door off to be able to see what it is and get to fix it. Even if the motor did not work the window would be in one position and not move up and down.
