Noises problem
1995 Volvo 850 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 138000 miles

The driver's side wiper does not clear everthing in its path. Seems like the the wiper arm does not apply enough pressure to hold the blade on the windshield surface tight enough clear the windshield. The arm has 2 springs holding the tension. Is it possible these 2 springs need replacing or do you know of something else to check.

It could be the wiper blades that have hardened.

Check if the wiper pivots are worn.
