Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1995 Other Saturn Models 4 cyl Manual 198000 miles

3/24/08 I HAD A NEW CLUTCH INSTALLED 2 WITH 5 QUARTS OF TRANS FLUID. 2 DAYS LATER THE CAR SMOKED ALOT FROM THE BOTTOM SMELLED LIKE BRAKES OR EXHAUST. CALLED THE REPAIR MAN SAID IT MAYBE TOO MUCH FLUID HE ADDED. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. NOW ITS HARD TO SHIFT GEARS AND JUMPS OUT OF 5TH GEAR AND HARD TO GO INTO REVERSE AND WHINNES WHEN IT DOES. THE CLUTCH PULSATES UP AND DOWN UNDER MY FEET AS IT REST ABOVE IT. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP THEY SAID IT NEEDS A CLUTCH I JUST PUT ONE IN SO I LEFT CAME HOME CHECK THE TRANS FLUID AND IT WAS BONE DRY. I'M OUT OF TIME AND MONEY WHATS MY PROBLEM PLEASE HELP ?

Hi there,

i feel you have run out of trans oil and cooked the bearings. As for the clutch the pulsation is a faulty or damaged pressure plate. this will cause the fingers to be distorted and the the release bearing is running over these and going up & down giving you the pulsation effect.
