Hi 1138thx,

Check for a blown fuse or faulty brake switch.

If you need to use the car, try using manual unlocking of the interlock.
Insert the ignition key into key slot near geat shift and shift to N.

CAUTION : You might not have brakes lights working.

i do appreciate it. i replaced the brake light switch a few months ago (brake lights quit working), so i'm figuring it's a fuse problem. in the meantime, there is an alternative way to shift from park into neutral by inserting a key into a slot just above the shaft. thanks so much.

That is for emergency uses because you would be driving without any brake lights Wink
