Drive Train Axles Bearings problem

my truck makes a loud clunk when I have it in 4wd and have any load on the wheels. you can be driving along for quite a while and have no noise and then when you get in sand for example, it will clunk out and make all kinds of noise. i also noticed it will do this if you are backing up and turn the wheels while in 4wd. Am I looking at a bad hub, axle, differential??? the transfer case was rebuilt so everything is good in there.
