Engine Mechanical problem

My 95 SHO is getting black puddles of water under the exhaust, and the exhaust also smells like the car is running rich. When it's cold out the exhaust releases grey smoke, and when I rev the engine up the smoke comes out more. I was told that there is possibly too much condensation in the exhaust system somehow, and I was told something else about the thermostat being stuck open which could be causing this problem. Any ideas?
