Engine Performance problem

My car dies out at around 3000 RPM's. It is almost like a kill switch shutting the motor off when you reach a certain speed and then turning it back on when the speed goes below the set speed. It does it on take off and while just driving not at certain speeds just any time I hit around 3000 RPM's. Also just give a little more detail I just changed the plugs, plug wires, Distribeter, and button.
