1995 Ford Probe 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles

I have a 95 ford probe with a 6cyl 2.5l engine and having distributor problems for past 2 years. I am not a mechanic and have had the car serviced by family mechanics and also a shop. I have had 4 rebuilt distributors put in and all have failed. The last one lasted only 2 weeks. Can anybody give feedback about this. I was told to look for a used one, but dont want to have same problem. I was told that the rebuilt ones are problems
