Engine Mechanical problem

My car stalls when slowing down to a stop and some times when I let off the gas. It has only happened at slow speeds, never on the freeway. Sometimes it will start right away and some times it won't. I wait 5 minutes and it starts. Also the other day it didn't die, but after being the store for a few minutes it wouldn't start. I had gone about 4 miles before I stopped. I does seem to happen after it has ran for a few miles. Not when it is cold.
