Heater problem
1995 Buick Regal 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

I have a 1995 BUick Regal with a 3100 V6. I recently replaced my head gaskets and all the other intake gaskets on my Regal because of oil in my coolant (no coolant in oil luckily) and I did everything right I used new head bolts and everything. It has still been running hot and the hoses keep getting bloated now today white smoke started billowing out of my hood and a tube to the heater core blew off spewing antifreeze all inside my engine bay. It overheated right after the heat went cold (I was running the heat in attempt to cool the engine). I reconnected the hose and its still overheating. I also checked my radiator when I changed my head gasket by attaching a garden hose to it with the other hose off it ran thru just fine. My water pump works when i turn it fluid shooting out of the hose so thats good. Can a blocked heater core cause overheating in this engine?
Respond ASAP my car is stuck in a parking lot.
BTW I put a new 195 stock thermostat in too just last weekend.
