Shakes or Wobbles problem

Hello I'm not sure what the problem is but I would like to get an idea before I take the car to be repaired. Here's the problem. When ever I'm not giving the car gas, it trembles and often cuts off. When I'm reversing to park and because the gas isn't really being pressed, the car mostly cuts off then. I have to turn the car back on to properly park. Overall, if I'm giving the car gas, it's pretty much okay. If I'm not giving the car gas, such as when I'm stopped at a red light or parking, the car cuts off. What may the problem be?
