Steering problem

My husband and I are replacing the high pressure power steering line this Sunday, and I'm concerned we'll run into unexpected issues re: wrong parts, or not having a part we didn't know we needed. He's experienced with general road service on heavy duty rigs, buses, etc, so is ok with repairs, and can get the lines "crimped" whatever that means. What size or part # line is it, and are there other parts we need?

I would go ahead and replace the low pressure line as well.
Inspect the High pressure line, some are bolted to the pump with a "torx" bolt, so make sure you have the correct torx bit.

Buy the new line(s) from an autoparts store and compare them with the old ones before you disassemble, there may be copper washers on either side of the line that connects to the pump, so make sure you have replacements and of course some power steering fluid.
If the bolts on the pump are rusted, get some PB blaster and spray the bolts the night before.

I would also purchase a Haynes repair manual before you start (or buy anything), it will give detailed instructions and will give you some insight on what you are getting into.

Check the condition of the PS belt and replace if worn.
