Engine Cooling problem

could anyone describe the procedure for replacing the water pump please? does the timing belt have to come off? what engine marks should i look for? etc..any advice would give me a running start.. i am an ok mechanic but i do not favour making work for myself on unfamiliar engines with a tight schedule. i thank you for your help in advance.
