1994 Capri SE 1.6L non-turbo manual.

Engine quits when revs reach 3000 RPM. Like the ignition is turned off. Revs drop to 2700 and the engine fires up again.

Start up and idle is fine. Engine is strong below 3000 RPM

Does your engine shut off when you are in park and nuetral when reving? Some cars have a built in rev limiter and wont let it rev up without being in gear.
