Engine Cooling problem
1994 Lincoln Mark VIII V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 139000 miles

the temp gauge on my mark 8 pegged on me the other day. now the last 2 times ive gottebn into it it overheated.its not loosing any coolant the heater isnt working, sometimes i can drive 2miles and itll get hot,the laST 2 TIMES IT LET ME GO 10 MILES OR SO ,WHAT HOULD I BE CHECKING

Check for a bad thermostat, feel upper radiator hose, does it get hot? When was the last flush and fill? Coolant does loose it capabilties after a few years! Also check the cooling fan operation...
