Transmission problem
1994 Jeep YJ 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
SOMETIMES ONLY, when it goes into overdrive between 70 an 90 km/hr it jumbs between drive and overdrive, drive and overdrive and does not stop even if I go faster. Other times it won't do it at all. I had all the sensors change excepte the ECM, tried 3 different TPS because the Jeep keeps giving the TPS code. Had the trani checked and ajusted, I was told it was not the trouble because it does not do it all the time. Had all the tranni connections cleaned and checked. It's been doing this for about a year now and I am running out of patience. Today I was checking my fluids like I usually do once a week and check the wires for the battery, the distributor cap and the coil to make sure they were tight. Got into my jeep and whent to start it, nothing happened, the lights in the dash were nice and strong but that's it. So I went back under the hood and played with the coil wire, then it started. The end of the wire connecting to the coil has always felt soft like easyly pliable, could the trouble of the trani be caused by a deffective coil wire???
PS/ If you find the awnser I will donate as soon as I get a little loose. My budget is really small, I am presently out of work because of an injury. Thanks for understanding. Louise |
