i washed the vehicle then all of a sudden i noticed that the brake lights where not working. i have had problems with the passenger side brake light in the passed but fixed that problem. now this before i stared tearing the thing apart i was wanting to here some ideas of what the problem maybe

first check woudl be to check if the third brake light works and if the cruise control will turn off when brake is pushed.

secondly where did you wash it?
