Noises problem
1994 Dodge Shadow 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 105k miles
94 Dodge Shadow ES engine knocking clattering when it is cold the knock clatter is not bad but as the car warms up the knock clatter increase there is a noticeable loss of power. I have checked all the fluids they are fine, the car does not seem to overheat. I am at a loss for what it could be, any idea's would be great! |

Could be rod bearing, piston wrist pin or valve train. Have you opened hoood a listened to locate source? |

Yes it seems to be coming from under the valve cover, I initially thought that they were out of adjustment, but got confused when the problem increase as the car warmed up and I had the noticable loss of power. |

Your engine was known for taking out cam tower bearing and lifter collapse. As temp goes up oil thins and metal expands causing valves not to open as far and loss of power. |

The fix is another cylinder head a reman is cheaper way to go or salvage yard. Other fix pull head take to machine shop they can ckeck bearing to cam journals and either replace cam or use oversize cam. |
