Engine Cooling problem
1994 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 126000 miles

A few days ago, i heard a noise coming from inside the hood, sounded like a bad piston. Until further looking the fan and flywheel connected to water pump was wobbling. i got it home; looked again part of the belt was worn off and radiator fluid empty luckily nothing happened as far as damage goes I kept is stored for the past fewa days. I want to fix it where do I start? when I start it up now that I have removed the pieces of belt from the water pump area 9 mind you I had just noticed it ) it idles smoothly , no noise nothing.could I need to replace the belt only or toil with replacing the waterpump what key indicators should I be looking to see?
