Engine Cooling problem
1994 Chevy Caprice V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 136000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My temperature gauge is not working it never moves I want to buy a coolant sensor but I dont know if it will fix the problem. And also one of my elctrical fan does not come on what are somethings I can do to fix this problem.
You can jump the fan from the fan connector to the battery to see if the fan is bad or a fuse/relay/fan switch is bad.
Many GM cars use seperate senders for the gauge temp and coolant temp to the ECM.
Either the sender is bad or the gauge in the dash. You should be able to ground the wire from the gauge sender (gauge should go full hot) which should isolate the problem between the sender and the IP gauge.
