Air Conditioning problem

Where is the micron/cabin filter in a 1994 BMW 318i and how do I change it? My air blows cold but level 4 blows like level 1 or worse...I assume the filter needs to be changed but I can't locate it. I've heard it's behind the glove box, but I can't seem to get the box out to look for it.

It is behind and to the left of the glove box for left hand drive cars. Remove the glove box and there is an access door with a lever/handle on it in the "box" that houses the heater core and A/C heat exchanger. The cabin filter is inside of and behind the door.
