Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Volvo 940 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 220000 miles

I was driving and the dash lights came on. The car did not stop running but i didnt have any power when i pressed the accelerator. I pulled over and shut the car off, and when i tried to restart it wouldn't turn over. What are the possible problems?

Spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body and see what happens-if it starts and dies out-check the fuel pressure-up to specs, recheck ignition system by doing a spark test.

i have a 94 volvo 940 and about a year ago i had the same problem the car would just not go if you put the pedel to the floor would just eventually shut off. turned out to be a relay in the fuel pump.
