My 93 Saturn SL1 has been a great car thus far, although I recently ran into a problem.
I closed and locked the driverside door as usaul, but later in the day when i tried to unlock it would not open. Can hear the lock mechanism moving can feel the resistacne throught the key.

Outside Door handle seems to have little or no resistance.

My assumtion is that the linkage or cables that control the door handles ablility to release the locks safety, is somehow broken or has come loose inside.

If I remove the interior trim panel and the water gaurd form the passenger door will i be able to see that system of cables / linkages?

Can this be repaired by a tech and how many hours should I allow for (Canadian Auto Servicve between 85 - 100 per hour.)

Or should i get to the wreckers / Salvage yard and try and find a door?

Are there any diagrams, section details, diagnostic drawings, blueprints etc.. of this door anywhere?

You're a horses *bad word*! There is no answer to the problem of why Saturn doors will not open and how to get them open when they're shut. -Don't forget to lift the tail..., and breathe deeeep!

Then, there is NO answer to why a person should buy a *bad word* Saturn in the first place! And you are a horses *bad word* ''mechanic'' if you don't know the answer. *baaad wooord*
