Brakes problem
1993 GMC C1500 6 cyl Manual 164728 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My dash light "brakes" won't go out. The pedal moves about 5 inches before the brakes engage. I've replaced rear drum shoes and front disk pads. I have replaced the master cylinder and bled it first on the bench. Found out from chiltons that brake line bleeding must be done with the combination proportioning valve pushed in while bleeding. While bleeding the piston of the combo valve would move back and forth and fluid would shoot out as the pedal was slowly depressed. Without the engine running the brakes pump up and don't fade. Do I have a bad combo/proportioning valve. Is it normal for fluid to shoot out of it during bleeding if you are pushing in on the valve?
