Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 210000 miles
my 93 prizm (corolla) stalled and died one morning going to work. I changed ecu,ign coil, distributor cap,map sensor, air intake sensor. before all this it wouldnt start now it will start only if i pull two plugs and dip them in gas. It will idle allday but when i go to accel it tries to die out unless i feather the gas peddle then it will catch up still sputtering now and then. All my research has lead me to fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump. I dont have a pressure guage but i did remove the fuel line going into the fuel rail and it seems to be getting really good incoming pressure, so i guess my question is do the (fpr) has pressure build up on the return..... thank you |

Check the vacuum line to the FPR, if gas is present, then the FPR diaphram is ruptured and pressure is bleeding off.
But you are right, you have a fuel issue. You should also change fuel filter. |
