Computer problem
1993 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 311000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a ford probe in which I had replaced a blown engine in two years ago. A JDM version of the same motor from japan. Everything was fine, then 6 months ago i got a check engine light and the car was running rough after warmup and would stall at lights if I didnt feather the gas pedal a little. The code was 28- EGR control modul solenoid I Think. I put up with this problem for 2 months then one day I wasnt quick enough on the feathering to keep the car running. I was at the gas station...fueled the car up, then went to leave but when i turned the key on I noticed the fuel cutout light on. Prior to this if the car stalled on me It wouldn't start right away if I cranked it over...but after 30 seconds it would fire right up. But this time the fuel cutout light came on(which didnt happen before) and the car makes no attempt at firing while turning over. Replaced the fuel inertia switch(just to be sure) and nothing. Tried to reset the computer by pulling battery cables for over 15 minutes( actually overnight once). After reading my hanes repair book i tried removing the negative batt cable then pushing brake pedal for more than 5 seonds then replacing the batt cable. Nothing works...my egr code is still there and the fuel cutout light is still on. The pump works as i can hear it when i turn the key on. Its just the pcm not letting the injectors work i think. Whats telling it not to inject fuel? This is very frusterating. Any help would be greatly appreciated
